Today is very hard to know what the word “loyalty” really means…
I don’t know about you, but idea of loyalty has gone through my mind lately.
That word represents all the good things that we can expect from people close to us?
People like our family, who should support and be loyal to us all the time. But is it like that??
I had some thoughts about the whole. Not saying I was disappointed in someone or anything like that, it’s just getting harder to relay on people today and to expect their loyalty.
Hmm, so who should be loyal to you?!
- Your family, your partner, your friends, your co-workers, your teammates?????????
In my mind there are two ways of getting loyalty from people: earn it and expect it??
I think both ways are achievable, but which one would you go with?
For me personally, I would choose the first one. I think you should always earn your loyalty.
Maybe it’s a harder way when you have to do something good for a person, help them without questions asked or just be there for them when they need it. As I said it is a harder way but well deserved way of earning their loyalty.
If you choose second option, you have to ask yourself, are you going to get it?
You can expect loyalty from people around you but did you deserve it and are you loyal to them?
Loyalty for me is my dog Zeus.
Zeus is 17months old Bull Mastiff. He is still a baby. People close to me know that Zeus is my third child.
Zeus is the only “person” always loyal to me without any prejudice. He is always there. When I am happy, sad, mad and even pissed off… I know he is “stuck” with me for while, but he doesn’t mind. He is always happy when I am back home, always ready to great me, and you can see his love towards me even when I am crossed with him.
No wonder they say “dog is the man’s best friend”.
To close this chat session, I will always be loyal to people who deserve it and hopefully I deserve my family and friends loyalty, too.
There are NO shortcuts… If you want people to be loyal to you, work on it and you will deserve it…
